Recumbent Bicycle

A folding 2-person recumbent bicycle designed for the NASA 'Moonbuggy' competition, which challenges participants to develop a human-powered vehicle that maneuvers a simulated lunar landscape. It's lightweight frame weighs 117 lbs and folds into a 47 inch cube. After racing the rigorous course at the Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, AL, RISD's entry was awarded 'Best Design' by NASA and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA).
